Boost your metabolism by doing some pre-breakfast aerobic exercises. A regular routine of 30 minutes exercise is ideal for starters. It raises your heart rate and gives you what you need to help maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Stretch like a cat

Not only will it wake you up after your night's rest, it's a great way to improve your flexibility and improve the strength in your core muscles. Enjoy the way it makes you feel.

Refresh and re-hydrate

Have a glass of cold water as part of your healthy morning routine. The icier you make it, the better. Invigorating and refreshing, it's a sure fire way to wake up all your senses and hydrate yourself for a healthy start to the day.

Exercise your facial muscles

Execrcising your facial muscles are just as important as exercising the rest of your body. Every day, stretch your chin, raise your eyebrows as high as you can, open your mouth as far as you can and stick your tongue out. Feel the stretch.

Head to the garden

Walk through the garden in your bare feet and enjoy the morning dew to feel instantly rejuvenated. Do some stretching while you are there to take in the morning air. Feel it through your body.

Move your body in a way that you have never used it before. Remember how it feels. Shake your torso. Wiggle your toes and feel the energy rush through your body. Use it as part of your healthy routine.

take the stairs

Energise yourself in a jiffy with no need for a fancy exercise kit. Run up and down the stairs three times. It's amazing how it will set the oxygen racing through your body - and you may want to do more.

take a detour

Take a detour from your normal route to work - find a local park to walk through. You might have to leave home a few minutes early but it will be worth the effort. In time, it will become part of your healthy routine.

have an invigorating shower

Turn your shower head to its powerful mode and feel the force of the water against your body. Keep the temperature cool to invigorate you and get the blood racing through your body.

refresh your senses

Refresh your senses by waking up extra early and going for a peaceful sunrise walk. Walking is an easy way to improve health both physical and mental. Walking is also great when on holiday in the countryside and by the sea. If you've got a bike, why not ride!

try tai chi

Start the morning with Tai Chi which can improve strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination.

Gentle morning stretching exercise can help you focus on breathing, body control and relaxation. Just 10 minutes a day can do you the world of good! Here is a simple stretching exercise:

  • Stand straight with your feet together and interlock your hands under your chin.
  • Inhale deeply for a count of 5 through your nose lifting your elbows.
  • Drop your head back slightly as you exhale through your mouth drawing your elbows together.
  • Bring your head up again, draw your elbows up and repeat 5 times.

And breathe

Take ten minutes to concentrate on your breathing. Breathe in and out to take more oxygen into your lungs.

A great way to get a Brighter Body is with a morning workout. Walking, jogging or running is the perfect way to build a healthy routine. The trick is to start slowly, adding one minute each time you run. Before long, you’ll be doing this for 30 minutes at a time.

Before breakfast, take an early morning swim. Swimming is one of the few sports that can be undertaken by anyone, regardless of height, weight, build, size, gender or age!

drink more water

Why not swap your coffee for a cold glass of water? Drink at least 6-8 glasses of water a day to keep adequately hydrated. Your body needs water to maintain enough blood and fluids to function properly. Did you know: being 5-10% dehydrated can make you feel tired and lacking energy.

try a new route

Take a different route to work...and aim to notice new sights and sounds along the way! Why not use an MP3 player to play music to help entertain you on the way!
